Terrariums.
You will need:

A good friend,
potting soil,
preserved sheet moss,
glass vessel,
small figure,
scissors, and
spoon
These are the supplies Kathryn and I used. The dessert glasses were found at a second hand store, the lizards I found at the dollar store, and the moss is from Joann's.

 1. Fill each glass 1/3 full,

 2. and place moss on top,

 3. Choose a figurine to place on top

File folders.
You will need:

File folders,
designer papers,
drop cloth and newspapers,
spray glue (or any other glue)
pencil, and
scissors
All of these things are pretty easy to find. The spray glue is Elmers, and I got a 12 pack of file folders at the dollar store for $1.50,
I had a designer paper pad in my closet from a previous craft or you can buy it in single sheets at craft stores,

 1. If your paper has a design on it, start by checking to see if it will fit,

2. if the design fits, line up the back of the paper with the front of the file folder and trace the outline of the folder onto the paper,
 3. cut out the paper,
 4. and use spray glue to adhere it to the front of the folder,

5. repeat as many times as you want to!

This one is my favorite, I may use it for all my sewing ideas. Hmmm...

Rit dye.
You will need:

rit dye,
salt,
water,
large pot,
stainless steal spoon,
a large sink,
garment to dye, and
a drying rack
You can get Rit dye at almost any craft store. I got mine at Joann's for $2.50
start with a white or off white garment. If you have a colored item already, you can use Rit color remover first.
Dissolve dye into 2 cups hot water,

add dye mixture and salt to hot water bath,
gently put in wet garment, and simmer

stir for half hour, I left my sweater in for longer so that I achieved the color I wanted,

put into warm bath and let soak,
then rinse, and rinse, and rinse...etc.

do this until water runs clear,
 then gently wash,
 and rinse again!

let dry. Enjoy your "new" garment!

Hexagon Flowers.
Start out with a selection of different fabrics,
card stock and paper hexagon pattern,
scissors, thread and needle,
and a hole punch.

Cut a hexagon shape out of your card stock and punch a hole in the middle (this will make it easier to take out at the end) and rough cut your fabric in the same shape. Bast the fabric around the paper pattern, but be careful not to catch your pattern.

Sew the edges of three fabric hexagons together like this.

Sew in your center to one side,
 and finish putting together
Use as an applique, or sew a bunch together as a quilt.
Have fun!
P.S. Only take out paper pattern once your flower has been sewn onto the final fabric, to do this, cut a hole in the back of the base fabric and remove the paper.
